About the Site Designer: Shelly Durrell
It's only fair that you know a little bit about me and my background. Like you, I have had my share of ups and downs in my life, but through it all, I've ended up living a Great Life. I am one of those people who said "Someday I will write a book," and I did (Healing the Fisher King: Spiritual Lessons with Parzival, Gump, the Grail, and Star Wars). The book won five awards. I became a Kung Fu teacher (Sifu) in the Wah Lum Tam Tui Northern Praying Mantis System and also a teacher of Tai Chi and other Internal Martial Arts, teaching for over 24 years. I've organized shows, demonstrations, and seminars, allowing me to travel the world for these promotions. I've done rim-to-rim hikes of the Grand Canyon. A few years ago I moved to Vegas, allowing me to trek to Zion, Bryce, and the Grand Canyon a few times of the year. I continue to learn, grow, and seek out new adventures, which is my definition of a Great Life. I hope my website will help you enjoy your life and find your personal adventures.

Create around one at least a small circle where matters are arranged as one wants them to be.

Any Design Process is a creative one of fine-tuning, returning, changing, and evaluating. We may be making linear lists to keep us on track of the goals we have designed, but the real process is circular. Just as the seasons follow each other in a circular process, you too, will engage in the same tracking.
Circular Design Process
- At the beginning of Your Design, you did Core Statements. Whenever you feel you are getting off-track or depressed about your project, return to those to give you direction.
- Whenever, you start a new project or life area, review your Core Statements.
- At the minimum, review your Core Statements every six months. Feel free to rewrite them if you want.
- Every week, look over your Stage Task Lists to see your progress from the past week, and see if you need to do any changes for the coming week.
- Every month review the areas you are working on. Ask yourself if you need to redesign your approach. If so, go back to the Design Overview Process and create a new Design Overview Sheet. This file requires Adobe Acrobat Reader, which you can get from the Third Party Downloads panel at your left. Also ask yourself if you need to add a new project or area. And if something of importance comes up and your time and energy are stretched thin, don't hesitate to temporarily drop a project. You have all of your life to do many things and you can always return to previous projects. It's all part of that circular process.
- Every month you should evaluate how you did with replacing your old behaviors with new ones. If you don't feel you have ingrained a new behavior as deeply as you like, do it another month, ... and another if need be. Give yourself a reward when you are successful, and pick a new one from your Behaviors list.
After you have worked The STARS System for a while, you should think of how you want to make it tailor-made to you with the Finding My Own Style section.
