About the Site Designer: Shelly Durrell
It's only fair that you know a little bit about me and my background. Like you, I have had my share of ups and downs in my life, but through it all, I've ended up living a Great Life. I am one of those people who said "Someday I will write a book," and I did (Healing the Fisher King: Spiritual Lessons with Parzival, Gump, the Grail, and Star Wars). The book won five awards. I became a Kung Fu teacher (Sifu) in the Wah Lum Tam Tui Northern Praying Mantis System and also a teacher of Tai Chi and other Internal Martial Arts, teaching for over 24 years. I've organized shows, demonstrations, and seminars, allowing me to travel the world for these promotions. I've done rim-to-rim hikes of the Grand Canyon. A few years ago I moved to Vegas, allowing me to trek to Zion, Bryce, and the Grand Canyon a few times of the year. I continue to learn, grow, and seek out new adventures, which is my definition of a Great Life. I hope my website will help you enjoy your life and find your personal adventures.

All our dreams can come true, if we have the courage to pursue them.Walt Disney dreamt about building a castle in the middle of a kingdom and made it all come true. It is time to dream about your castle and the mini-castles in between. After completing the exercise, you can insert it into the Surroundings section of your DYGL Binder if you are not writing about it in a separate journal.

Improving My Surroundings Exercise
- My Ultimate Fantasy.
Where would you like to live in the world? Is it by the sea or in the mountains? Is it a penthouse or 1000 acre ranch? Is it full of antique furniture or modern steel? And don't forget your work environment. Is it the corner office in Manhattan or the country home with a writing table? Dream away. - My Closer to Reality Dream.
Until you get that mountain home, what would be a good dream to work towards that will make you feel good? Are you happy with your home, and just need to have it organized or decorated? Do you need more efficient tools in your work area? Beautiful surroundings are in your future. - What Part of My Dream Do I Have Now and How Did I Achieve It?
You may already have a bedroom that gives you a comfortable feel — what work did you do to create it? Look at your home and work area and note what does work and some of the steps that got you to that point. - Why Haven't I Achieved More of My Dream to Date?
Make a quick list of what you are missing in your surroundings. After that, look for any patterns of behavior which have prevented you from getting those missing items. - Design Brainstorming.
Get some architectural / home design magazines and clip pictures of homes and rooms you like. See some color designs you like — color a page with them. See a group of shelves on your computer that you like? Print that page. Create a vibrant home and office scrapbook.
