About the Site Designer: Shelly Durrell
It's only fair that you know a little bit about me and my background. Like you, I have had my share of ups and downs in my life, but through it all, I've ended up living a Great Life. I am one of those people who said "Someday I will write a book," and I did (Healing the Fisher King: Spiritual Lessons with Parzival, Gump, the Grail, and Star Wars). The book won five awards. I became a Kung Fu teacher (Sifu) in the Wah Lum Tam Tui Northern Praying Mantis System and also a teacher of Tai Chi and other Internal Martial Arts, teaching for over 24 years. I've organized shows, demonstrations, and seminars, allowing me to travel the world for these promotions. I've done rim-to-rim hikes of the Grand Canyon. A few years ago I moved to Vegas, allowing me to trek to Zion, Bryce, and the Grand Canyon a few times of the year. I continue to learn, grow, and seek out new adventures, which is my definition of a Great Life. I hope my website will help you enjoy your life and find your personal adventures.

My personal hobbies are reading, listening to music, and silence.
— Edith Sitwell —
Edith Sitwell was a poet who recognized the value of not only her hobbies of action, but also the need for time to enjoy silence and "just be." In this exercise, you will have to slow down, and think of how you would like to spend your Personal Time. After completing the list, you can insert it into the Personal section of your DYGL Binder if you are not journaling it.
My Personal Time Exercise
- My Ultimate Fantasy.
Imagine you have all the money and time in the world and ask how you would spend that time. Would that be an extension of what you do now in your free time, or would you try something new? - My Closer to Reality Dream.
Are you secretly thinking of trying ballroom dancing or rock climbing? Would you like to write that Great American Novel? Do you just want to find a way of doing more than you already do? - What Part of My Dream Do I Have Now and How Did I Achieve It?
Hopefully, you already have a few things you like to do in your spare time. How have you progressed in that activity? - Why Haven't I Achieved More of My Dream to Date?
Have you been so overwhelmed spending your energy helping others, that you don't have time for yourself? Does your chosen activity require money or skills?
- Design Brainstorming.
Find articles on people who have excelled at your hobby / avocation. Collect information of tools that are used in your various activities. Think of a trip you would like to take that revolves around your interest.
