About the Site Designer: Shelly Durrell
It's only fair that you know a little bit about me and my background. Like you, I have had my share of ups and downs in my life, but through it all, I've ended up living a Great Life. I am one of those people who said "Someday I will write a book," and I did (Healing the Fisher King: Spiritual Lessons with Parzival, Gump, the Grail, and Star Wars). The book won five awards. I became a Kung Fu teacher (Sifu) in the Wah Lum Tam Tui Northern Praying Mantis System and also a teacher of Tai Chi and other Internal Martial Arts, teaching for over 24 years. I've organized shows, demonstrations, and seminars, allowing me to travel the world for these promotions. I've done rim-to-rim hikes of the Grand Canyon. A few years ago I moved to Vegas, allowing me to trek to Zion, Bryce, and the Grand Canyon a few times of the year. I continue to learn, grow, and seek out new adventures, which is my definition of a Great Life. I hope my website will help you enjoy your life and find your personal adventures.

I am living out my adolescent dream of travel and adventure.

— Tim Cahill —

Tim Cahill is a man who Designed His Great Life. He combined his love for the outdoors with his talent for writing to become co-founder of Outside magazine, a contributor to National Geographic, and best-selling author.

Maybe your adventures in your dreams are similar to Mr. Cahill's. Maybe they are the dream of seeing the place your family originated from. This is your time to dream those adventures.

New Adventures Exercise

  1. My Ultimate Fantasy.
Think of films you have seen or books you have read that have thrilled you. Use those as a starting point for imagining your Ultimate Adventure Fantasy.
  2. My Closer to Reality Dream.
Maybe you would like to swim with the dolphins in Florida ... or Cancun. Or go to Washington DC to visit the various museums. Having an adventure does not mean taking big risks — it means breaking out of the box. So many places are accessible, and after all, we only have one life to live (as far as we know).
  3. What Part of My Dream Do I Have Now and How Did I Achieve It?
Think of both the grand and small adventures you have had so far. How did you arrange to have these adventures?
  4. Why Haven't I Achieved More of My Dream to Date?
Have you not gotten as far as you liked because of physical reason or time constraints? Did you have to have certain skills or training?
  5. Design Brainstorming.
Download photos of people doing what you want to do. Make lists of books to help you plan your adventure. Find articles of skills you would need for your adventure. Collect maps of places you want to visit.
